Throughout the year, the Centre will have numerous special offers e.g. 10% off the cost of the full course fee by enrolling early, prizes for attending some informal learning events, prizes for Learner of the Year winners etc. Please keep an eye on our website, our marketing emails and our Learners Programme for the offers available.

Summer School Scholarship

In 2017, we’re offering scholarships to pay half of the course fee for a two week course which is part of the Cardiff Intensive Summer Course on Intermediate and Advanced Levels.

REDUCTIONS

Are you able to claim a reduction in your fee?

60+ Pension only pay 1/2 of full fee if receiving Pension Credit

You will only pay 1/2 of full fee on following benefits (income based): Housing Benefit, Universal Credit, Income Support, Child Tax Credit (£2780+), Incapacity Benefit (income based), Employment Support Allowance (income based), Jobseekers Allowance (income based), Pension Credit.

If you're a full time student you will only pay 1/2 of full fee.

THE FINANCIAL CONTINGENCY FUND

The National Centre for Learning Welsh is responsible for administering this fund. Go to www.learnwelsh.cymru

5. ‘REACT’ GRANT

If you are currently unemployed, the Government offers grants to pay for any training which may assist you in finding a job. If you are learning Welsh to improve your employment opportunities, you may apply for a REACT grant. Please contact 0800 0284 844 for further information. Please find the criteria below:

• Anyone who has been made redundant in the last 3 months, currently unemployed and who have not been in continuous employment for 6 weeks or more since their redundancy; or
• Currently under notice of redundancy; and
• Have not undertaken any public funded training since being made redundant.

Funding towards...

100% of training costs to acquire new skills (max £1,500). You’r also able to claim back costs of up to £200 for the following: equipment, travel, accommodation, learning material and childcare.
